Report by Elliott M-C in Year 6

Following five hard matches and two tournaments, St George’s were deservedly in the school football finals. As the coach arrived at the huge stadium, our team was buzzing with excitement and could not wait to see the pitch. We put on our boots and started to warm up. Our amazing manager, Mr Sims, gave us some tips and drills and before we knew it, the match had started. Our team had many attacks but unfortunately couldn’t get a goal. Our Lady of Lourdes created a flurry of opportunities and we thought they had scored; that was until our amazing goalkeeper made four fantastic saves. Early in the second half, our chance came and our phenomenal striker, Jack Brysland, scored an amazing goal. The second half whizzed by and St George’s won 1-0. The team jumped for joy as the final whistle blew and we were crowned Champion of Champions.

The boys were also winners of the Deanery football tournament so a very successful year!
