  • Artist of the Month

    This month’s winner is Albert from St Anthony class for his stunning artwork depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Albert has used oil pastels to create a wonderful Nativity scene, showing God’s son in the centre of the picture, with a silhouette of Mary and Joseph by His side. Well done Albert!

  • Guild of St Stephen

    On Sunday five of our pupils received the Guild of St Stephen medals having completed a year of serving at Mass. We are all very proud of them and look forward to seeing them serving in our school Masses very soon.

  • Netball News

    On Wednesday, our year 5 and year 6 netball teams visited Alleyn Court to play 4 rounds of games against their year 5 and year 6 girls. Our girls were absolutely fantastic. The year 5 girls played 4 games, winning three and drawing one. The year 6 team mirrored this success, also winning three and drawing one. Mrs Irons and Mrs Turner were very proud coaches!

  • Soccer, Socks, Singing & Spots!

    What a busy week! Last Friday the boys were amazing in the local schools football tournament. On Monday we all wore odd socks to raise awareness of anti-bullying week. On Thursday the choir sang their socks off in the inaugural Assisi Trust Primary Choir competition and today we have been raising money for Children in Need by coming to school as colourful as we can!

    This week St Peter's Class led us in a special Remembrance assembly. It was reflective, moving and gave us all the opportunity to think about that most precious gift we can give to each other – the gift of Peace.

    Today we bid a fond farewell to Mrs Meechan who is retiring after 14 years at St George’s. We will all miss her greatly due to her commitment and dedication to our school and everyone in it, staff and children. On behalf of everyone at St George’s, we thank her for all she has done for us and wish her a wonderful and blessed retirement

  • Assisi Trust Tournaments

    Our football and netball teams were busy today, playing the Assisi Trust tournaments. Despite the weather they played well and even returned with medals. The football team took 3rd place and the netball team took 2nd. Well done to both teams.

  • Cross Country

    Last week we took teams from across the school to compete in the schools cross country event, Our children showed enthusiasm and perseverance as they all completed the course and we even brought a couple of medals back to school. Well done to the whole team.

  • Artist of the Month

    Congratulations to our first winner!  Jesse from St Therese class was chosen for his amazing design to illustrate our school mission statement, ‘Safe in the palm of God’s hand.’ Jesse has used a mixture of chalks, pen and oils pastels to decorate the background behind his photograph of him sitting in a picture of God’s palm. Well done, Jesse!

    Shawn, Ollie & Michael from St George's Parish church came in today to talk to the older children about serving at Mass. They shared their experiences of serving and explained how you can become an altar server at St George's or St Gregory's. Some of our servers in school also shared information about their first year serving. Details of training sessions will be announced in the church and school newsletters.
