• Choir perform at the O2!

  Last night our choir had the amazing experience of singing at the O2 Arena with the 9,000 strong Young Voices Choir. Report from Imogen and Katerina.

  Mrs McLoughlin is the person we needed. The one that made it happen and she has prepared us for the O2 in London. When the show started, we started to sing with the other schools and our voices joined together and we sounded as one person singing. When ‘Sky full of stars’ played we all got our torches and waved them and we all turned into a sky full of stars shining in the air. This all happened one amazing Wednesday.

  

• Artist of the Month

  This month’s artist has been selected from St Francis class. Reuben has been chosen for his fantastic Elmer in the snow picture, which was linked to the class topic called “Winter Wonderland”. Reuben used a range of different things such as cotton buds, brushes and his finger tips to explore a printing technique and he created a colourful collage for his Elmer the Elephant design. Well done on such a fantastic piece of artwork!

  

• Sports Hall Athletics 2!

  Today was the turn of Year 3 & 4 at the Sports Hall Athletics. They had a lovely morning and came 5th out of 11 schools. Well done all of you!

  Children from years 5 & 6 joined other local schools for the Sports Hall Athletics competition this morning. They had a lovely time and came 3rd overall. Tomorrow is the turn of years 3 & 4

  

• Santa Netball

  Our netball team were in full festive swing at the annual Santa rally today. The tournament was about playing great netball, making new friends and bringing Christmas spirit to the courts! We celebrated with hot chocolate and cookies - a great afternoon of fun. Well done to Freya who was awarded the prize of ‘Best dressed’ for her fabulous Santa outfit!

  

• Advent Begins

  We have started the Season of Advent by lighting the first candle on the Advent Wreath. The PTA also set up our lovely crib scene for us as we await the arrival of Jesus at Christmas. Many thanks to Nanny Patsy for the lovely wreath.

  

• New Altar Servers

  Yesterday at Mass, Fr Brett commissioned Nathan and Mia-Rae as altar servers following a two month training programme. Congratulations to both of you and we hope to see you serving for many years.

  

• Artist of the Month

  This month’s winner is Albert from St Anthony class for his stunning artwork depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Albert has used oil pastels to create a wonderful Nativity scene, showing God’s son in the centre of the picture, with a silhouette of Mary and Joseph by His side. Well done Albert!

  

• Guild of St Stephen

  On Sunday five of our pupils received the Guild of St Stephen medals having completed a year of serving at Mass. We are all very proud of them and look forward to seeing them serving in our school Masses very soon.

  

• Netball News

  On Wednesday, our year 5 and year 6 netball teams visited Alleyn Court to play 4 rounds of games against their year 5 and year 6 girls. Our girls were absolutely fantastic. The year 5 girls played 4 games, winning three and drawing one. The year 6 team mirrored this success, also winning three and drawing one. Mrs Irons and Mrs Turner were very proud coaches!
