  The boys' football team played their final three league games this week. They drew one match and lost the other two 1-0 in two very close games. The boys all played very well and have one tournament left to finish the season.

  

• Science Superstars

  During Science Week, all the children worked hard, investigating and researching. The class teachers choose a small group of Science Superstars for their engagement and effort throughout the week. Congratulations to all our Superstars!

  

• Exciting Visitors

  This morning we had a very exciting visit from the Shoeburyness Fire Service. The fire Fighters showed us their fire engine and all the equipment. The children all had a turn with the hose, which was lots of fun! Mr Lighton then talked to us about what to do if we hear a fire alarm at home and showed us all the protective clothing a fire fighter has to wear.

  Our Science Week finished with our first ever Science Fair giving children and parents a chance to look at all the work and investigating going on from EYFS to Year 6

  

• House CompetitionWinners!

  After a nerve wracking count in assembly this morning, St Anne Line House, red team, have won this term's house competition with 310 House Stars! Well done to all of you. On Monday they are invited to come in their own clothes with a splash of red to celebrate.

  

• Food for the SVP Centre

  A bumper collection of essential food supplies for St Vincent's Centre Southend as part of our giving for Lent. Thank you to those families who have contributed so far. The collection will continue until the end of term.

  

• Roman Invasion

  The Roman Empire came and conquered St Bernadette Class today! Many skills were acquired including engineering, coin making and cookery. The day finished with a bountiful banquet of Roman delicacies!

  

• More World Book Day fun!

  The children of St Elizabeth Class brought in their favourite book from home and painted pictures of their favourite book character. Aren't they fabulous!

  

• Artist of the Month

  Year 4 have started their new topic about extreme weather and as part of this work topic they have studied a Japanese artist called Hokusai, who created a woodprint called ‘The Great Wave of Kanagawa’. This month, our winner of ‘Artist of the Month’ goes to Lyla, who did her own beautiful interpretation of the print by using oil pastels to show some boats moving through a stormy sea and a huge wave. Well done, Lyla!
